Stem Cell Transplant Course - Day 1 - 10/7/2026

This educational activity provides the learner with a comprehensive description of transplant & cellular therapy care including types of transplants/cellular therapy, pre-transplant/cellular therapy work-up, transplant/cellular therapy procedures, complications of transplant/cellular therapy, post-transplant/cellular therapy management, survivorship, and supportive care.

1. Analyze hematopoiesis and immunology principles and the populations that might benefit from stem cell transplantation and/or cellular therapy.
2. Review various types of cellular therapy and identify the difference between autologous transplant and allogenic transplant.
3. Identify the pre-transplant/cellular therapy process.
4. Identify at least 3 conditioning agents and 2 supportive medications used in the management of transplant/cellular therapy patients and review principles of TBI.
5. Identify the process of administering stem cells and other cellular infusions and to a patient.
6. Analyze peri and post-transplant/cellular therapy complications, nursing management strategies, patient education points.
7. Evaluate 1-2 cases focusing on the entire transplant/cellular therapy process.

Lehigh Valley Health Network is accredited as a provider of nursing continuing professional development by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation. Completion Criteria: Registered Nurses attending the entire program will receive 7.5 Contact Hour(s).
