Overview
The Department of Emergency Medicine hosts a monthly Peer Review Conference designed to promote a culture of continuous learning, patient safety, and professional growth. During this structured session, physicians and advanced practice clinicians collaboratively review selected cases that highlight diagnostic challenges, systems-based opportunities, clinical excellence, and areas for improvement. Discussions are conducted in a collegial, non-punitive environment that emphasizes evidence-based practice, cognitive reflection, and identification of actionable system enhancements. The conference supports quality improvement initiatives, reinforces shared standards of care, and fosters interdisciplinary dialogue. Continuing Medical Education (CME) credit is available for participating clinicians.

Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, learners will be able to:

  1. Apply evidencebased diagnostic and management strategies to high risk or high variability emergency department presentations to reduce unwarranted variation in care
  2. Implement identified quality and systemsbased improvements in their clinical practice to enhance patient safety, documentation quality, and interprofessional communication.
  3. Integrate structured clinical reasoning strategies and bias mitigation techniques into real time patient evaluation and decisionmaking.
