2026: Trauma: A Continuum of Care Virtual Fall Conference

This educational activity is designed to enhance trauma care knowledge across the continuum, from performance improvement and patient safety to evidence-based clinical decision-making and rapid multidisciplinary response. Participants will review current trauma practices, examine evolving evidence related to patient safety and trauma interventions, and apply key concepts to improve assessment, communication, teamwork, and patient outcomes in the trauma setting.

1. Describe current evidencebased trauma care practices across the continuum, including performance improvement, patient safety, spinal motion restriction, pediatric trauma considerations, and resuscitative thoracotomy.
2. Identify clinical decision points, team roles, and communication strategies that support safe, timely, and coordinated trauma care.
3. Apply concepts of Just Culture, team training, evidence appraisal, and multidisciplinary response to improve trauma patient assessment, intervention, and outcomes.

1. Participants will report increased knowledge related to trauma performance improvement, patient safety principles, spinal motion restriction, pediatric trauma care considerations, and resuscitative thoracotomy response.
2. Participants will identify at least one practice strategy they can apply to strengthen trauma assessment, team communication, patient safety, or multidisciplinary response in their clinical setting.
3. At the conclusion of the activity, participants will demonstrate understanding of how evidencebased trauma care and interprofessional collaboration support improved patient and system outcomes.

Lehigh Valley Health Network is accredited by the Pennsylvania Medical Society to provide continuing medical education for physicians.  Lehigh Valley Health Network designates this live educational activity for a maximum of 4 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)^TM. Physicians should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the educational activity.

Lehigh Valley Health Network is accredited as a provider of nursing continuing professional development by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation. Completion Criteria: Registered Nurses attending the entire program will receive 4 Contact Hour(s).
