Overview
Join us for our annual OBGyn Ultrasound Symposium, an engaging program designed to explore current and emerging topics in obstetric and gynecologic imaging. Expert faculty will provide practical, evidence-based updates with an emphasis on incorporating new knowledge and imaging techniques into clinical practice. Topics include (but are not limited to) the detailed first trimester anatomic survey, implications of borderline ultrasound findings, imaging of fibroids and adenomyosis, and evaluation for retained products of conception. Case-based sessions in obstetrics, gynecology, and genetics will demonstrate how this knowledge is incorporated into evaluation and management of abnormal ultrasound findings. The symposium will also feature a live scanning session demonstrating the latest techniques in 2D and 3D ultrasound imaging, as well as an interactive "Just Images" session where participants can test their diagnostic skills. Designed for clinicians and learners at all levels, the symposium offers a dynamic blend of expert insights, practical techniques and interactive learning to enhance knowledge in OBGyn ultrasound. Appropriate for all physicians, residents, fellows, sonographers, advanced practice clinicians and genetic counselors whose practice involves obgyn imaging.

Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, learners will be able to:

  1. Review the indications and components of the detailed first trimester ultrasound and discuss tips for building a new program.
  2. Identify common borderline obstetric ultrasound findings and distinguish those that are ultimately benign from those with meaningful implications for fetal outcome.
  3. Identify the ultrasound characteristics of fibroids and adenomyosis.
  4. Review the differential diagnosis and related management of genetic disorders related to abnormal biometry.
  5. Identify the sonographic findings of the post-pregnancy uterus and distinguish those that warrant intervention from those that can be managed expectantly.
  6. Identify common and uncommon obstetric and gynecologic ultrasound findings.
  7. Apply a systematic ultrasound approach to evaluation of the fetal central nervous system using the midsagittal plane to recognize normal anatomy and identify common abnormalities including ventriculomegaly, absent cavum septi pellucidi, posterior fossa abnormalities and neural tube defects.
  8. To utilize live scanning format to demonstrate practical tips and techniques to obtain optimal 2nd trimester images of the fetal CNS and comprehensive fetal Doppler assessment.
  9. To describe the indications for and utility of using noninvasive prenatal testing for abnormal ultrasound findings. To understand the interpretation of new clinical use for noninvasive prenatal prenatal testing.
  10. To review a wide range of interesting GYN ultrasound cases, demonstrating contemporary 2D and 3D imaging techniques.
  11. Discuss the prenatal evaluation and postnatal management of select fetal abnormalities through multidisciplinary case review.
